![]() His life long friend Agrippa turned out to be an extremely gifted general, and engineered many of his famous victories. Octavian was extremely fortunate in his close friends. Your enemies can't do anything but give you XP. Moral of the story? When playing Total War, get loyal armies. Yet again, Roman politics of the day: no army, no say. He was stripped of all powers and exiled. Without any military base for political power Lepidus can do nothing but submit. What really makes him an underdog is that at one point Octavian saw him as a threat to his power, and legions under his control defected to Octavian. Mind you he largely did a good job of keeping things in order for Octavian, which makes the next part tragic and shows much of a jerk your boss (or in this case partner) can be. At first he controlled Spain and southern Gaul, but Octavian forced him to change control to Africa. The difference is that he gave up control of his legions, and act that basically doomed him to being politically marginalized in influence. He was the third triumvirate and theoretically an equal to the other two. If those of you who are knowledgeable could answer some of these questions, I'm sure it will increase the enjoyment of the DLC for all of us. Both Octavian and Antony seem to be pretty powerful but wasn't there one more Roman contender? Could you tell us a little about him? Obviously, one of you could just post a link to the Wikipedia page and call it a day but that's a lot of information that not everyone would want to go through so I'm just asking that those of you who are knowledgeable to just explain the important parts. CiG is about Caesar's conquest of Gaul, HaG is about Rome and Carthage duking it out but I feel the IA campaign is much more rich and not as simple as Rome v Rome and this would be a great opportunity for those of us who are not knowledgeable on the subject to ask questions and for those who are knowledgeable to teach us about the period. The other two DLC's were pretty straightforward.
